Georgia Watermelon Queen to Visit Fulton County’s Riverside Farmer’s Market in Roswell

ROSWELL, Ga. -- The Georgia Watermelon Queen will visit the Riverside Farmer’s Market on Saturday, July 21 from 8:00am – 12:00pm.  Her visit is part of her official duties to welcome summer and to educate the community about the nutritional and economical value of watermelons.  Fulton County Cooperative Extension operates the Riverside Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning in the parking lot of Roswell City Hall located at 38 Hill Street in Roswell, Georgia.

Laurel Higginbotham, the 2012 Watermelon Queen, will lead a fun-filled day for the entire family.  She will be handing out coloring books, promotional watermelon items as well as officiate watermelon eating and seed spitting contests.  A children’s tent, delicious made-to-order crepes, live music and a radon information table staffed by Fulton County Cooperative Extension Agents will add to the festivities.
