Representative Sworn in During Private Ceremony

ROSWELL, GA -- On Tuesday, Jan. 11, Rep. Harry Geisinger of the 48th House District was sworn in to his seat for the 2011 session.

The private ceremony took place in the historic Roswell home of Fulton County Superior Court Judge Tom Campbell. The Campbell family's 190-year-old Bible was used during the event.

Roswell Municipal Court Judge Maurice H. Hilliard and lifelong Roswell resident Jack Benson braved the icy streets in a four-wheel drive truck to take Rep. Geisinger and Pat, his wife of 50 years, to the Campbell home.

Jan. 11 is now significant for a number of reasons; on that day, 46 years ago, Judge Campbell was sworn in to the State Bar of Georgia.

Judge Campbell held the 48th House District seat from 1989 to 2004, when then-Governor Sonny Perdue appointed him to the Fulton County Superior Court.
