FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Nine more North Fulton County high school seniors have been named 2012 National Merit Scholars, joining 12 of their peers in earning one of the nation's most prestigious titles for high school students.

The National Merit Scholarship comes with $2,500 for college-bound students to use at the schools of their choice.

To qualify for the honor, a student must earn an exceptionally high score on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They must also be endorsed by their principals, perform well in the classroom and confirm their PSAT scores by earning similar high scores on the SAT.
