North Fulton Hospital nurse wins national honor

ROSWELL, Ga. -- Elizabeth Lister, a registered nurse at North Fulton Hospital, received April's DAISY Award for Nursing.

The national honor is given monthly to nurses who go above and beyond in their jobs every single day.

Lister was nominated for the DAISY Award by one of her patients.

"Elizabeth made a wonderful lasting impression that I will always remember," the patient said. "Around the clock, she was very compassionate and reassuring, and she took the time to establish a caring relationship with me, attending to my every need. North Fulton Hospital has an extraordinary professional in the Surgical Care Unit!"

Lister has worked for the Roswell hospital since 2011. Alex Peterson, clinical manager of surgical nursing at the hospital, praised her caring and professionalism.

"Liz is a compassionate caregiver and detail-oriented analytic," Peterson said. "Liz chose to become a nurse upon returning to the workforce after her children reached school age, and her patience and kindness are invaluable."
