ROSWELL, Ga. -- The Michael O'Neal Singers are back with another classic performance.

The 24-voice choir will present "A German Requiem" by Johannes Brahms at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 13 at Roswell United Methodist Church (814 Mimosa Boulevard, 30075).

"A German Requiem" is considered one of the world's greatest masterpieces of choral/orchestral literature. It is a deeply personal statement from Brahms, meant to console and comfort people after the death of a loved one.

Brahms originally named the piece "A Human Requiem" for its calming nature.

River Eves Student's Art Featured in Coloring Book

River Eves Student's Art Featured in Coloring Book

ROSWELL, GA -- River Eves Elementary School now has a famous artist in its midst.

Third grader Dylan Fawley's drawing of cartoon character Drippy Dropperson was one of 12 winning pictures that will appear in the 2011 Drippy Dropperson coloring book.

Dylan chose to depict Drippy Dropperson taking a quick shower ("5 minutes or less!") to conserve water.

The Drippy Dropperson coloring book is the City of Roswell's way of illustrating aspects of water conservation in a manner that makes sense to children. The book is distributed to the community through schools, doctors' offices, restaurants and retailers.

Every year, Roswell students in third, fourth and fifth grade are challenged to design pictures of the character protecting water.

The monthlong exhibit of artfully reconstructed bicycles and/or parts, titled Moving Parts of the Arts, will be on display in various locations throughout the city in the days leading up to the festival at the end of the month.
