Take an unlikely princess in a fictional, medieval kingdom, Princess Winnifred the Woebegone. Add her bride-seeking suitor, Prince Dauntless the Drab. Toss in some witty writing and a delightful score that won the original show a Tony nomination for Best Musical, and you have Once Upon a Mattress.

The beloved, musical adaptation of  Hans Christian Andersen's "The Princess and the Pea" will be presented by Holy Innocents' Episcopal School's award-winning middle- and upper-school players on Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m.
