ROSWELL, Ga. -- There are plenty of fun activities coming to Roswell in the next few weeks.

Great American Cover-up Quilt Show

Bulloch Hall (180 Bulloch Avenue, 30075), one of the homes in Roswell's famous Southern Trilogy, is gearing up for its 29th annual quilt show, presented by the Bulloch Hall Quilt Guild.

This year's theme is "Quilts, Full Circle," with quilts from the guild and local community on display throughout the house. Many of the pieces will be for sale.

The guild is honored to host "Vintage Revisited," an exhibit from Mary Kerr in which 19 artists recycle antique quilt blocks into their own unique designs.

The show will take place from Saturday, Mar. 12 to Sunday, Mar. 20. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Mary Kerr herself will be on-hand on Mar. 20 to give personal tours of her exhibit and sign copies of her book, Vintage Revisited.

The cost for the Great American Cover-up Quilt Show is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for children ages six to 18.

Tea with Beatrix Potter

Holly Stevenson, a local actress who portrays English children's author Beatrix Potter, will delight young audiences with the stories of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Tom Kitten and Mrs. Tiggy Winkle during "Tea with Bea" at Barrington Hall.

Tea with Bea will be on Saturday, Apr. 23 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.

Stevenson has been an actress for 25 years and performs her one-woman shows for thousands of Metro Atlanta children. A local playwright wrote the Beatrix Potter show with her in mind.

Initially, Stevenson was unfamiliar with the author other than her Peter Rabbit character, but she soon developed a deep admiration for the late Potter.

"I feel very privileged to perform for young audiences, and I love hearing their laughter and appreciation," Stevenson said. "It's amazing that after a show, I find that I have new friends who let me know that, in some way, I have made a contribution to their lives. And that is a very special gift to me."

After the performance, attendees will drink tea and play games in Barrington Hall's formal garden.

To sign up for Tea with Bea, call 770-640-3855.
