Family of Roswell Couple Killed in Plane Crash Releases Statement

ATLANTA -- A statement was released by family members of the Roswell couple killed in a single-engine plane crash in Mississippi on Tuesday.

The couple, James W. Judson Jr., 52, and Elizabeth A. Judson, 51, were on their way back to Atlanta from northern Mississippi when radar lost contact with their aircraft over Mississippi Tuesday morning.

The NTSB is looking into the cause of the crash.

"The Judson family would like to thank our friends for all their kind thoughts and prayers as we try to understand this tragedy and loss. Jim and Beth were loving family members who both gave freely of their time, talents and treasure to many in our community. They will be greatly missed," said James' brother, Robert Judson.

The couple was at a weekend outing with their family prior to the crash. They are survived by a son and daughter.

Memorial services for the couple have not been finalized due ot the accident investigation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church in Roswell.
