Predicted Final Four: South Gwinnett, North Gwinnett, Lowndes, Camden County

Easiest Draw: North Gwinnett. The Bulldogs would not have to face a team with less than three losses until at least the quarterfinals. Being on the complete opposite side of the bracket from Camden County is also a big plus.

Keep Roswell Beautiful Looking for Green Businesses

ROSWELL, GA -- Keep Roswell Beautiful, an organization that promotes environmental responsibility and action, is looking for businesses that show environmental sustainability and responsibility.

The Green Business Designation Program was created to recognize Roswell businesses that are recycling, taking water conservation measures, using electricity wisely and otherwise doing business in an environmentally friendly fashion.

The program is divided into three levels, with each level building on the next.

The first level includes a pledge, becoming a Business Partner of KRB, designating a contact person within the company and completing three items in each category -- Pollution Prevention, Energy Conservation, Solid Waste Reduction and Water Conservation.

Roswell Breaks Ground for Holcomb Bridge Road, Highway 9 Improvements

ROSWELL, GA -- The City of Roswell will host a ground breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the Holcomb Bridge Road (HBR) at Alpharetta Highway (SR9) Intersection Improvement project on Friday, Nov. 12 at noon.

The ceremony will take place at Bank of North Georgia (10446 Alpharetta Street, Roswell, 30075).

This Georgia Department of Transportation project will improve the intersection of HBR/SR9 and SR9/120 by adding turn lanes on three approaches and constructing a median along SR9/120 from just north of Clara Drive to just north of Houze Road.

The expected duration of construction is eight to 10 months.

GDOT awarded the construction contract to Baldwin Paving for $1,244,322.74. The City of Roswell will contribute 20% of the project's cost.

Armed Robbery at Panera Bread

MILTON, GA -- City of Milton detectives are currently investigating the Thursday, Nov. 4 robbery of a Panera Bread (5304 Windward Parkway, Milton, 30004) in which no one was hurt.

Barry T. Lawrence, 18, of Forest Park is in custody in connection with the crime. He is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail on two counts of armed robbery by force and six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

His expected first appearance in front of a judge is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Fulton County Jail.

Officers arrived at the scene of the crime at 11:10 p.m.

Take a Sneak Peek at River Eves Elementary

ROSWELL, GA -- Parents of preschool or private school students who are considering River Eves Elementary School for their children are invited to take a "sneak peek" at what makes the school so outstanding.

On Thursday, Nov. 4, there will be a reception in the Media Center at 10:00 a.m. Parents will be able to meet the school administrators and current kindergarten lead teacher, take a tour, ask questions and speak with PTA parents who volunteer at the school on a regular basis.

Local Salon Celebrates Anniversary with Charity Event

ROSWELL, GA -- Aura Hair & Makeup (29 Oak Street, Roswell, 30075) plans to celebrate its third anniversary with a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Child Development Association.

The CDA is a non-profit organization that provides high-quality affordable childcare and preschool education to low-wage working families. Aura's anniversary event and silent auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the salon.
